Was reading on how the U.S. Government wants to abolish homosexual women and men from serving in the military. Homosexuals have only been admitted under a which basically bars an individual from expressing their sexual orientation - under the condition that they are homosexual. This is all provisioned by the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy (which seems to contradict the individual rights of freedom of speech).

While progression has been made by Congress to repeal the policy the fact remains that the law still has not been completely abolished. To do so would be a painstaking and arduous process...in other words - it'll be some time before this law is done away with. But a step forward is better than a step backward. The Congress intended for these types of endeavors to take time, there must be some contention between different executive bodies. The article is an interesting read because it sheds light on the fact that individuals must fight for their rights (no, not to party in this case unfortunately). If you want something you've got to put your ass on the line for it. Just as the African-Americans struggled with discrimination, hatred, and injustice we can see that there is a similar set of hardships other individuals must face.

While I'm not homosexual or in favor of it in anyway I want peace for everyone - I'm a pacifist. So for me this article hit dead on spot. I look forward to seeing the progress made by the people who do support his movement. How far will they take it and what will they do to get what they desire?
